Touring can be intense: the travel, the rehearsals, the performances, but somewhere between the airports, arenas and hotel lobbies, you find your rhythm. And for me, that rhythm includes something simple but essential: staying in shape: mentally, physically and spiritually.

Every city offers a new stage, a new audience and also (if you’re lucky and quick!) a moment to breathe, explore and reconnect with nature. It’s in those in-between moments I can reset and recharge.
We’ve been deep in performance mode the past few weeks. The shows are intense but rewarding and a chance to drop into the feeling of the music again and again.
Yes, That’s Me in the Trees…
Speaking of balance and nature: you have to see this! Saulius Petreikis, one of the incredible artists I get to perform with on the The World of Hans Zimmer – A New Dimension tour, recently shared a hilarious video of me… way up in the trees. Literally.
Yes, that’s me working out above the ground like I’ve joined a percussion section for the birds.
Saulius, a phenomenal Lithuanian multi-instrumentalist, composer, and performer, has this gift for finding the soul and humor in every moment. His artistry and lightness bring so much to this tour and I’m grateful to share the stage with him.
Keeping It Real
I’ve been performing for decades now and I’ve learned: the stage is where I feel most alive. But it’s not just about hitting the notes. It’s about being present, enjoying the moment and truly connecting with the audience.
That connection is why I keep doing this. Why the rehearsal room matters. Why I stretch in hotel rooms and run through forests when I can. It’s all part of preparing for those two hours on stage, where everything else fades and it’s just music, memory, and magic.
A Quick Glimpse Behind the Curtain
There’s something beautiful about rehearsing the same piece a hundred times. You stop chasing perfection and start chasing presence. With every repetition, you’re not just preparing your body and voice, but also your heart.
If you’re curious about what life on the road really looks like, I’ve shared some snapshots and thoughts in On the Road with The World of Hans Zimmer – A New Dimension, and in my recent entry, The Journey Continues, where we kicked off the U.S. leg in style.
We’re currently moving up the East Coast and the shows are getting more powerful every night. I’ll be sharing more soon. Maybe even a few more tree adventures (or at least backstage yoga).
Until then, stay grounded, stay joyful, and thank you for being part of this journey, whether from the front row or across a screen.
